"Do something today that your future self will thank you for" Parent Homework 1. We had a very wonderful and productive first week back. Everyone seems to be adjusting to the new schedule! 2. Don't forget to head to the office between 8am and 4pm weekdays to pick up Groove-a-Thon prizes. 3. During Morning Meetings, we have been learning about hidden disabilities. Our first meeting was on Autism/Asperger's, the second was on Tourette's Syndrome, and this week we will learn about ADD/ADHD. We will continue our lessons of inclusivity to create a more warm, understanding and loving world. 4. Please make sure your KindMInd practices their multiplication/division facts EVERY DAY! Next week we are moving into Fractions. 5. Our focus this quarter is editing and revising ALL written work. It is most helpful when a student can engage in peer editing. This is when they sit with a classmate and their partner reads the writing out loud to the author. It is one of the best ways to HEAR mistakes. This is proving difficult in DL. Please help your child learn the importance of rereading, editing and revising all written work before turning it in by reading their work out loud to them when possible. 5. Next week is our first Asynchronous Monday. Students will be given a schedule to follow, you will receive it in Dojo. To help students understand the importance of time management and prioritizing, we will have a guest speaker ( a student from FPU) coming in to share with us about the college experience utilizing these skills. Furthermore, we will be hosting future teachers from FPU to observer our classroom in February.
