Happy Sunday! I hope you are all enjoying your weekend and staying out of the smoke! Grab a beverage and cozy spot, because this is a bit of along one! Parent Homework: 1. Please make sure that the browser your child is running is GOOGLE CHROME. This is the best browser to run all of the apps and sites that we will be using. 2. I am asking you to sit down with your KIndMInd and install an adblocker. Unfortunately, our go-too 'SafetyTube" is no longer accessible. So we need to install an adblocker to keep your child safe. Please search "adblock youtube" in your browser. The first choice is "Adblock for YouTube~ Google chrome. Please install this. It will be an extension on your child's device. It will run as soon as they are logged into Google Chrome. I will be meeting with students/parents who struggled with this from 12:45-1:15 tomorrow. Updates: After much reflection, I have decided to stick with Teams. Unfortunately, some things happened on Friday that have forced my hand. For your child's safety, ability to learn, and my ability to teach, I believe it is best for us to be tied to administration view. We will have to continue to be patient as we navigate this platform. My colleagues and I will be working on a contingency plan to help those who are kicked out or have tech issues. A parent suggested the option of having a "Teams Buddy" So I will be working with tech savy students during recess tomorrow to start this process. Our iReady window is open. This is the most important assessment because it lets me know where your child is starting and exactly what he/she needs to learn. Please refrain from helping your student with any answers. Your child must PAUSE any time they take a break. This assessment will be done during ASYNCHRONOUS time (12:45-2:00 ~except Tuesday due to Music) however, I will be available to help. Your child has the week to complete both Math and ELA. Our Pickup days will be Wednesday and Thursday from 1:15-3:00. Please sign yourself or a family member up for a scheduled time to limit the number of people on campus at once. To make it easier for you, I will have the gates open to the Staff Parking Lot on Dakota. Drive through both gates and onto the blacktop. Head North to park near the Tether Ball Courts. You can then walk up the hallway to Room 19. Please call to me through the open door and I will deliver supplies to you. We must be wearing masks during this interaction. Your student must be wearing a mask and socially distance with me if he/she needs to go into the classroom library for a few books. Classwork: Last week we spent the first two days "training". Friday was spent learning our new class song, dealing with Tech issues and some KindMInds shared their "All About Me" bags.
